Lupita Nyong'o for Star Wars VII role?

Los Angeles  - Lupita Nyong'o is in talks for a role in Star Wars: Episode VII.

The 31-year-old actress reportedly had a meeting with the movie's director JJ Abrams ahead of the Academy Awards earlier this month to discuss the lead female part in the upcoming sequel.

Bosses are remaining tight-lipped on the role Nyong'o has been discussing, but it is believed the character could be linked to Obi-Wan Kenobi, which has been described as a non-Caucasian part.

However, Abrams is still eyeing up a number of stars to make the complete cast, with Jesse Plemons being one of the actors to beat for a part, but Ed Speleers and John Boyega are also in the run-in.

Meanwhile, Adam Driver is in final negotiations to play an undisclosed villain in the film, according to The Hollywood Reporter.

Nyong'o has taken Hollywood by storm after her breakout debut in Steve McQueen's 12 Years A Slave, which saw her play slave girl Patsey opposite Chiwitel Ejiofor, and earned her an Oscar award earlier this month for the Best Supporting Actress.

She was most recently seen in the thriller Non-Stop with Julianne Moore, Liam Neeson and Michelle Dockery.
