Madonna nervous about movie release

Los Angeles - Madonna is nervous about the release of he movie W.E.

The singer saw her film, based on the relationship between Britain's King Edward VIII and American divorcee Wallis Simpson, criticised at the Venice Film Festival earlier this month but admits she is prepared for the film to be slammed because of similar experiences in her acting career.

She said: "Of course I do get nervous. Because it's new. I had the same pressure when I began my music career, and I was nervous and I didn't know what to expect and people didn't know what to expect, and I had to earn my way in being taken seriously in the music department, and now I have to do that in film."

However, Madonna also admitted she will only welcome criticism when it is directed her work, not as a personal attack.

"I can tell when a person is reviewing my film and when they're reviewing me personally. I welcome criticism of my film when it's viewed as an artistic form and not when people are mentioning things about my personal life or my achievements in any other areas because they're irrelevant to the film. When they stick to the film, I do care. I pay attention to it," she added.
