Matt Damon wants a piece of Ben Affleck's movie seconds!

Los Angeles - Matt Damon would make a Daredevil movie - but only if Christopher Nolan agreed to direct.

The 44-year-old actor - who stars in the Ridley Scott-directed sci-fi film The Martian - has revealed he would be willing to follow in the footsteps of his long-time friend Ben Affleck by appearing as the comic book superhero, provided Nolan agrees to the project.

Matt shared: "For Ben Affleck and me it was always Daredevil - that's the comic we read when we were kids.

"But when that one came along I chickened out, because I couldn't tell. I hadn't seen the director work and I didn't know. So I just said, 'No.' Ben was like, 'I gotta do it.'

"And the movie ended up doing very well, even though I don't think Ben was ultimately very proud of it."

Despite this, Matt said he would be happy to assume the role if Nolan could be attracted to the film.

He told the Daily News: "If Chris Nolan came up to me and said, 'I want to do Daredevil,' I would be in."

Affleck's Daredevil movie was released in 2003, proving to be a box-office success but receiving mixed reviews.
