Matthew McConaughey offered more scripts after Oscar win

Los Angeles - Matthew McConaughey is excited to take on roles which 'turn him on' following his Oscar win.

The 44-year-old actor won an Academy Award for his role in Dallas Buyers Club earlier this year and has since been offered more work and is "embracing" the choices he now has.

Quizzed on what has changed since winning the prestigious award, he joked: "People respond 'yes' to RSVPs more often and more quickly."

And added: "What has really changed is that I am getting more scripts, I've got more choices which is great coming off of that. If anything it's giving me more opportunities, more things to choose from, which I'm embracing.

"And in the middle of getting much more I can more easily now personally ask myself 'what do I want to do that turns me on? What experience am I going to get out of it?' So yeah I am getting a lot of things."

McConaughey currently hits the small screen on crime drama True Detective and insists this is probably why he's had an influx of "detective things" coming in.

He told Deadline.com: "Surprisingly a lot of detective things and that's probably off of True Detective as well, but good stuff. I'm still looking for things that scare me a little bit. This one Sea Of Trees scares me, but in a good way."
