Los Angeles – The film adaptation of the parody novel Pride And Prejudice And Zombies written by Seth Grahame-Smith has finally become a reality.
After a number of director changes and false starts, Cross Creek Pictures has bought the rights for it and filming is set to start in September.
Following in the footsteps of Matthew Rhys, Matthew Macfadyen, Laurence Olivier and Colin Firth, British actor Sam Riley will star as Mr Darcy along with Lily James who will play Elizabeth Bennet.
This time around Sam’s Mr Darcy will take on more of an action role. The story holds true to the original characters, plot and relationship of the novel but has a narrative twist with a zombie takeover and the Bennet sisters are trained killers.
According to the DailyMail, Burr Steers is set to direct the film alongside Oscar winning screenwriter David O. Russell who wrote the script. Natalie Portman is a producer after turning down a role in the film.
Bella Heathcote will play one of the Bennet sisters and Jack Huston is tipped to play Mr Bingley or Mr Wickham.
