Mel Gibson for The Hangover 2

Hollywood – Troubled actor Mel Gibson is expected to make his big screen comeback with a cameo in The Hangover 2, according to The Hollywood Reporter, and it is currently being shot in Canada and Thailand.

The movie will reunite the original cast members, including Bradley Cooper, Ed Helms, Zack Galifianakis, Heather Graham and Ken Jeong and is slated for a May 2011 release.

The news was confirmed by actress Jodie Foster who directs and stars opposite Gibson in the upcoming movie The Beaver. Reports suggest that Gibson's recent public feud with ex-girlfriend Oksana Grigorieva over custody of their daughter has threatened the release of The Beaver.
Sources have told EW.com that Gibson, 54, won't play himself in the movie but will play "an outlandish character" like Tom Cruise's Les Grossman character in Tropic Thunder.

Foster told Extra that her friend Gibson, is "incredibly loved by everyone that's ever come into contact with him or works with him".

"He is truly the most loved man in the film business, so, hopefully that stands for something," she added.
