City Press: Whose brainchild was it to make a Mi Casa movie?

Micasa: It was all of ours; we work as a team. #TeamMiCasa

City Press: Tell us a bit more about the movie. Do you play characters or yourselves? Is there a storyline or is it about the band’s experiences?

Miscasa: Essentially it’s five music videos put together, but the music videos are not shot in the conventional way. There is a strong narrative throughout the short film and the visuals are tackling a specific message.

City Press: I read that this movie is about racial segregation and economic inequality. Are these issues close to your heart?

Micasa: It’s showcasing the beautiful story of us as South Africans and the unity we have seen over the past 20-odd years. It’s really about the fact that there are these two black dudes and a white dude going around the globe representing this country of ours and making music that speaks volumes.

City Press: Do you see yourselves doing more acting in the future?

Micasa: Hahaha … we are musicians. But only God knows where we go. I mean, look at our lead singer J’Something, he is now a "chef". So maybe yes, Dr Duda might become a famous actor. Haha …

City Press: Will there be any other famous people in your movie?

Micasa: Yes.

City Press: Lastly, where will fans be able to see the movie. In cinemas or on TV?

Micasa: Both. We will be releasing it in parts over the next five months … so part one should be out in a couple of weeks. After five months you will be able to put all the puzzles together and hopefully we can have a launch at cinemas once all five have been released.

Mi Casa Su Casa will be released in the middle of next month. Follow the band on Twitter @MiCasaMusic for updates.
