Los Angeles - Michael Fassbender is reportedly in early talks for the role of Steve Jobs.
The 12 Years A Slave actor has been approached to star in the upcoming biopic of the Apple founder after it was revealed Christian Bale had exited the project earlier this week, TheWrap reports.
The news comes just months after Leonardo DiCaprio also chose to step down from the role in the film, which is to be helmed by Slumdog Millionaire director Danny Boyle.
The Sony produced biopic will be based on a script by writer Aaron Sorkin, which will follow Jobs during three stressful, high-profile product launches including that of the first Macintosh computer in 1985 and the debut of the iPod in 2001.
Meanwhile, Seth Rogen and Jessica Chastain are also both reported to be in negotiations to appear in the film, although it's so far unclear whether either of them have reached an agreement with producers.
Bad Neighbours funnyman Rogen was linked to the role of Jobs' partner and apple co-founder Steve Wozniak, while it's unknown what part Chastain would be taking on.
