Mike Myers on for Austin Powers 4

Los Angeles - Mike Myers will appear in a fourth Austin Powers movie.

The Canadian actor - who has played the spoof British spy in all three of the previous films - has signed a deal for another project in the franchise, although no storyline or director has yet been confirmed, HitFlix.com reports.

It will be the first time Mike has appeared in a big role since the ill-fated 2008 movie The Love Guru - for which he won the Worst Actor Razzie - although he has voiced the lead character in animated movie Shrek in all four of the films.

Austin Powers: International Man of Mystery - the first movie in the franchise about the spy's mission to rid the world of Dr Evil, also played by Mike - made $67m in cinemas worldwide, but the 1999 follow up Austin Powers: The Spy Who Shagged Me grossed $312m.

The third - Austin Powers in Goldmember, starring Beyonce Knowles, took $296m at the box office in 2002.

Other stars who have appeared in the series include Elizabeth Hurley - who played spy Vanessa Kensington - and Heather Graham, who starred as Felicity Shagwell.
