Los Angeles - A British cinema has refunded moviegoers after they complained a film had almost no dialogue.
The Odeon Liverpool One gave people their money back when they slammed Golden Globes winning film The Artist - which stars Jean Dujardin and has also been nominated for 12 BAFTAs - but one viewer was left bemused by their requests.
Nicola Shearer - who was asked by a female usher if she knew the film was silent when she entered the cinema - told the Daily Telegraph: "Of course I knew it was and I asked the usher why she wanted to know.
"She then told me some people complained and asked for refunds because there is no sound and the screen is smaller. I thought it was really funny and laughed."
An Odeon spokesperson said: "Odeon Liverpool One can confirm it has issued a small number of refunds to guests who were unaware that The Artist was a silent film."
