Naomie Harris lines up Bond girl role

London - Naomie Harris is in talks to join the next James Bond film.

The 28 Days Later star has met with Eon Productions - the filmmakers behind the project - to discuss taking on a role in the movie, but no deal has been concluded, a spokesperson confirmed to Entertainment Weekly.

Little is known about the 23rd movie in the franchise, but Daniel Craig will be reprising the role of Bond while Sam Mendes will direct the project.

Shake up the series

Dame Judi Dench will also return as British spy boss M for the movie, which will be released on October 26 2012.

Javier Bardem is favourite to take on the role of the villain in the piece, and has previously revealed there are plans to shake up the series.

He said: "I'm a huge fan of the James Bond saga. When I was little, I went watching Mr Connery doing James Bond with my father.

"Who in the world would think I'd be in one of those movies. They're changing the whole thing, the whole dynamic.

"I'd be playing Bond's nemesis, yes, but it's not that obvious. Everything is more nuanced. It's very intriguing."
