Cape Town – A "monumental'" report on website Ain't It Cool News that Keanu Reeves had completed work on a two picture script treatment that would serve as sequels to the Matrix trilogy with the movies' creators Andy and Lana Wachowski has since been discredited.
The false report stemmed from a key note speech Reeves conducted at the London School of Performing Arts, but a rep for the actor told Entertainment Weekly, "None of it is true."
The original report claimed that the Wachowskis were planning to shoot the sequels in 3D and had met Avatar director James Cameron to discuss the pros and cons of 3D. Reportedly their plan was to "deliver something which has never been seen again" [sic] and would "truly revolutionise the action genre".
The actor was also reported to have said during his speech that he was "committed" to another sequel, Bill and Ted 3.
