New trailer lands for Meryl Streep's movie shot in SA

Los Angeles – Remember when Meryl, Jeff, Katie and Taylor were in South Africa last year filming The Giver? Earlier this year a first look trailer was released giving fans a sneak peek of what to expect.

The second trailer just dropped and it is amazing! Fans can rest assured that the movie will stay true to the Lois Lowry sci-fi novel on which it is based.

Set in a dystopian world devoid of colour, Jonas (Brenton Thwaites) meets The Giver (Jeff Bridges) a man who is in charge of preserving the memories of the community. Soon after The Giver, Jonas starts to see the world as it really is.

For a large part of the story the main character sees the world in black and white and the new trailer shows a colourless community led by a rather eerie looking Chief Elder, Meryl Streep. She is intent on stopping Jonas from exposing the elders’ secrets.

Check out the new trailer and character posters.
