No coverage at The Interview premiere

Los Angeles - There will be no interviews at the Hollywood premiere of The Interview.

Sony Pictures said Wednesday that no broadcast media will be invited to cover the film's red carpet on Thursday in Los Angeles and no interviews will be granted to print reporters at the screening.

The movie stars Seth Rogen and James Franco as a producer and television host tasked with assassinating North Korean leader Kim Jong Un.

A Sony spokesperson would not comment on the reason for the premiere's coverage restrictions but they come in the wake of a massive cyberattack on Sony Pictures, including leaks of sensitive and embarrassing internal e-mails.

Some have speculated that North Korea was behind the attacks in retaliation for The Interview, which opens Christmas Day.
