Paranormal Activity 3 goes back in time

mobiCape Town - The ghoulish trailer for the third Paranormal Activity movie has landed, taking the story back to its origins where we meet Katie, the haunted protagonist of the first two movies, as a young girl.

The third instalment in the horror franchise, which promises to reveal "Where the activity began" focuses on Katie's childhood in 1988 when her family are being haunted by things going bump in the night. Her father decides to record the night-time incidents on cameras installed around the house.

In the new trailer, the parents of Katie (played by Katie Featherston as an adult) and her younger sister Kristi (Sprague Grayden, who was introduced in the second film) seem to play along with the girls' strange games until they realise that something more sinister is afoot.

Sleepwalking

Also included are disturbing scenes of a young Katie sleepwalking in the middle of the night (as she did in the previous films) and a medium being attacked while trying to communicate with the spirit tormenting the family.

Meanwhile Paramount Pictures, which is releasing Paranormal Activity 3, has unveiled plans for a "Tweet To See It First" campaign, in the hopes of recapturing the "demand the film" craze that made the first film such a big hit in cinemas in 2007.

The competition asks fans to visit www.ParanormalMovie.com, then select and tweet their city from the map. The top 20 cities with the most tweets will see the movie premiere in their city three days before the film’s global release on October 21.

The competition is open to fans worldwide.
