Cape Town - Platteland, an Afrikaans musical production set for release in November will boast original songs by various South African recording artists which will be available on the film’s soundtrack.
The soundtrack will include 23 Afrikaans musical hits that were specially remixed for the film, including songs by Lianie May which she recorded specifically for the film.
May plays a women who singlehandedly runs her farm.
Steve Hofmeyr
The mysterious drifter who pitches up at her farm is played by Afrikaans singer Bok van Blerk, well known for his hit De La Rey.
Van Blerk will also be singing a duet with singer Steve Hofmeyr, who has also taken on a lead role in the film as the unscrupulous Mike Ferreira who is set on taking May’s character’s farm from her.
The album featuring the film's soundtrack will be released on 26 November, one day after the film's release.
Sean Else , who wrote the script with Deon Opperman, directs.
