Los Angeles - The cast of Pride and Prejudice and Zombies spent several days learning how to use a sword for their roles in the film.

The star-studded cast - which includes Suki Waterhouse - of the adaptation of Seth Grahame-Smith's parody of Jane Austen's classic novel were all shown the skills needed to kill zombies.

The actress-model - who is currently dating Hollywood superstar Bradley Cooper - told the Daily Mail newspaper: "We have to know how to kill zombies. You can't just give them a little shove."

Suki, 22, explained that much of Austen's prose will be kept in the film, which will also feature

Downton Abbey star Lily James, who will play the role of Elizabeth Bennet.

Suki said: "The zombie stuff is woven through the original text."

The actress appears well suited to the film as she already knows how to box and her father, a black belt, allowed her to attend karate classes when she was younger.

Earlier this month, it was also revealed former Doctor Who star Matt Smith has been cast in the film.

Smith, 31, will play the role of a parson who proposes marriage to Elizabeth.
Pride and Prejudice and Zombies is set for release in 2015.
