Richard Gere Movie 43
Los Angeles - Richard Gere never wants to watch Movie 43.

The actor starred in Peter Farrelly's critically-panned film - which features an A-list cast including Kate Winslet, Halle Berry and Hugh Jackman - and claims he only took part in the sketch about a company boss whose new product is the life-size nude 'iBabe' as a favour to his wife.

Quizzed about his thoughts on Movie 43, Richard replied: "Other than apparently it's a piece of shit? Nothing. I haven't seen it. The guy who put it together [producer Charles Wessler] is the godfather of my stepdaughter, a close friend of my wife. He said, please would you spend half a day on the movie?

'The Citizen Kane of awful'

"He showed me the skit and it was quite an innocuous thing, so I did it. I haven't even thought about it since, to tell you the truth. Never will see it."

The actor's scathing comment comes after critics universally slammed the film, with the Chicago Sun-Times branding it "the Citizen Kane of awful".

Richard has ironically been picky about his roles in recent years and insists he has got to the point in his career where he won't waste his time anymore unless the script is outstanding.

He added in an interview with The Guardian newspaper: "They don't send me stuff now unless the script is good because I don't want them to waste my time. There's not that much space left in my brain so I don't want to put any more in there if it's not of value."
