Robert Pattinson cancels movie appearance

Los Angeles - Robert Pattinson is reportedly thinking about not attending a scheduled upcoming press appearance in the United States for his new film Cosmopolis.

The actor has apparently decided he's not ready to face the press in the wake of girlfriend Kristen Stewart's cheating scandal.

According to television show Entertainment Tonight, the 26-year-old's movie is set to premiere soon in New York City but it is unknown if he will be in attendance.

However, a representative for the actor has since told website Gossip Cop: "No confirmed engagements have been cancelled. Any reports to the contrary are inaccurate."

'Really depressed'

The actor's Twilight Saga costar and long-time girlfriend was caught cheating with her Snow White and the Huntsman director Rupert Sander earlier this month.

The 22-year-old actress and 41-year-old Rupert, who has two young children with British Vogue model Liberty Ross, were spotted canoodling in Los Angeles.

Robert has been hiding out since the news broke last week and sources close to the actor said he is "really depressed".

They told Us Magazine: "Rob is beyond devastated," a source explained. "He's so heartbroken. He's shocked she could hurt him and humiliate him this way."
