London - Rupert Grint will be avoiding roles as "wizards" in future movies.
The flame-haired actor has portrayed Ron Weasley in the Harry Potter franchise for the last 10 years, and while he confesses to being excited at the prospect of trying out other film roles he will be avoiding anything which could lead to comparisons with the adaptations of JK Rowling's novels.
He said: "I'm quite excited just to move on and do other things, but it is kind of hard to compare any other franchise to Harry Potter because it is this kind of unique entity, which I'm not sure I'll ever find again on anything else. I think I would be wise to avoid any kind of wizard roles."
Despite know what he doesn't want to do, the British star is less sure about what his future possibilities might be instead, admitting he has felt part of a "machine" for the last decade.
He added to Collider.com: "I don't really know where I'm going. It's an overwhelming feeling coming out of this machine and suddenly being in the real world making these decisions. It's weird."
