Los Angeles - Shia LaBeouf and Jesse Eisenberg are to star as two weapons-dealing drug addicts in new film, Arms & The Dudes.
According to Deadline, the two actors are in talks with Warner Bros. and film director Todd Phillips to star as two stoners who are contacted by the Pentagon to supply $300m's worth of weapons to the US troops in Afghanistan.
The unusual plot is based on a true story by the journalist Guy Lawson, which was later published by Rolling Stone magazine.
Todd has reportedly been working on the project with fellow writer Jason Smilovic for years under Todd's company, Green Hat.
Arms & The Dudes will mark his first big film since The Hangover trilogy, which starred Bradley Cooper, Zach Galifianakis and Heather Graham.
Criminal Minds producer Mark Gordon is reportedly producing the film, while The Messenger's Bryan Zuriff is rumoured to be the executive producer.
Jesse - who rose to fame by playing Facebook creator Mark Zucerberg in The Social Network - most recently starred in the thriller The Double.
His rumoured co-star Shia is set to star in the action film Fury, which is out in cinemas from 14 November.
