Stuntman stabbed on Brad Pitt's movie set

Los Angeles - A stuntman has been stabbed on the set of Brad Pitt's upcoming movie Fury.

The 35-year-old man - whose name has not been released - had to be airlifted to hospital after he was struck in the shoulder with a bayonet while shooting the forthcoming war film in Oxfordshire, south west England.

Production company representative Claudia Kalindjian said in a statement: "There has been an accident between two professional stuntmen which happened in a rehearsed action sequence.

"It was an accident. It is obviously very unfortunate. He left the set laughing and talking."

Bonding exercise

The movie - which also stars Shia LaBeouf, Michael Pena and Jason Isaacs - is set in 1945 and tells the story of a five-man tank team who go behind enemy lines in Germany in their last attack against the Nazis as the regime begins to crumble.

Filming is taking place on private land in the Oxfordshire countryside and residents have been told to expect sounds of gunfire and explosives.

Brad and Shia, along with co-stars Logan Lerman, Jon Bernthal and Kevin Vance, were recently dropped in an English forest without their mobile phones and ordered by director David Ayer to camp for a few days as part of a bonding exercise.
