Los Angeles - A new report shows coroner's officials amended Natalie Wood's death certificate based on unanswered questions about bruises on the actress' upper body.
Los Angeles coroner's officials said in an addendum to Wood's autopsy report that some bruises may have occurred before she went into the water and drowned, but that could not be definitively determined.
Authorities renewed their inquiry into Wood's 1981 death in late 2011. Monday's report lays out the reasons for altering her cause of death from drowning to "drowning and other undetermined factors."
Wood was on a yacht with husband Robert Wagner and co-star Christopher Walken before somehow ending up in the water.
Sheriff's spokesperson Steve Whitmore said Wood's death is an open investigation, but he reiterated that Wagner is not considered a suspect.
