Taylor Lautner set for prison role

Los Angeles – Taylor Lautner has signed up to star in Fox 2000's Incarceron.

The Twilight Saga star – best known for playing werewolf Jacob Black in the vampire movie series – will play lead character Finn in the adaptation of the novel by Catherine Fisher, Deadline.com reports.

The movie tells the tale of Finn, a young man who has spent his life in a futuristic prison society known as Incarceron.

One day he is introduced to the daughter of the warden of the prison who is trapped in her own reality, and the pair find a way of communicating, eventually hatching a plan to help him escape from the jail.

John Palermo is producing the project with Taylor also involved behind the camera, while Adam Cooper and Bill Collage are scripting the screenplay.

Taylor, 18, is currently filming the last two instalments of the Twilight series, Breaking Dawn, but will next be seen in drama Abduction about a boy who finds his own baby photo on a missing persons website.
