Los Angeles – The celebrities came out to play on the biggest night of the year on the awards calendar.

It was a night that celebrated the motion picture.

Singing, dancing, LOL moments and hair raising speeches captured us as we were glued to the screen.

Here are our five best moments from the 2015 Oscars.

1) Lady Gaga stole the show.

Lady Gaga sang a medley of memorable tunes from The Sound of Music.

Her vocals were pitch perfect and she looked amazing in an Azzedine Alaia gown.

After her amazing performance Julie Andrews came on stage and hugged her!

2) John Legend and Common win best song.

After a very moving performance of Glory that had the crowd on their feet and in tears, the pair were announced winners.

3) Patricia Arquette’s call to action.

Patricia Arquette won the best supporting actress award for playing a single mother in Boyhood. She ended her acceptance speech with a call to action for equal pay.

Meryl Streep and Jennifer Lopez’s reaction was everything!

4) Graham Moore’s award winning speech.

Oscar newcomer Graham Moore took home the trophy for best adapted screenplay for The Imitiation Game. In his heartfelt speech he opened up about his attempted suicide and gave a message of hope to the youth.

5) That opening monologue!

Our list would not be complete without adding Neil Patrick Harris’s amazing opening.
