The superhero movie we’re kinda glad never happened

Cape Town – In the not so distant past (1990s) Nicolas Cage bagged one of the most coveted superhero roles, Superman. We kid you not, this is in fact true.

The actor was cast to play Superman in a Tim Burton directed flick, Superman Lives.

Test footage of Cage trying out his superman outfit has been released, and we’re going to be honest, seeing a long haired Cage in the shiny metallic blue spandex costume is a bit awkward.

The clip comes from the documentary The Death of Superman Lives: What Happened which focuses on why the movie never happened.

Check out the clip here:

Also check out the first ten minutes of the doccie which is set to be released digitally on 9 July.
