There has never been a movie like this made in the history of cinema

Los Angeles – For the first time in cinema history a boy grows up on screen in front of our eyes.

In his latest movie Boyhood, Richard Linklater filmed the same cast for over 12 years. It is the first time that this has been done in a work of fiction.

Boyhood is a coming of age story about growing up seen through the eyes of Mason (Ellar Coltrane). We journey with Mason through the ever changing landscape of his life as if it is lived in real time.

The film also stars Ethan Hawke and Patricia Arquette who play his parents and newcomer Lorelei Linklater, who plays his sister, Samantha.
