Los Angeles - For those who love their fairytales with happy endings, Disney has a treat for you in the new year.

The treat is the all time favourite classic, Cinderella, the story that never gets old even though it has been retold in many different ways. The original story still makes all of us fall in love and believe that dire circumstances have a way of working themselves out for the better.

For those who need their memory refreshed, Cinderella tells the story of a young lady named Ella, whose father remarries following the tragic death of her mother. Ever so eager to support her loving father, Ella gladly welcomes her new stepmother, Tremaine and her daughters Anastasia and Drisella into the family home. But things take a turn for the worst when the step mother mistreats the young girl and favours her own daughters.

Cinderella stars these familiar faces, Cate Blanchett as the wicked step mother, Lily James as Cinderella, Richard Madden, Stellan Skarsgard, Holliday Grainger, Derek Jacobi and Helena Bonham Carter.

Cinderella is due to be released in the US on 13 March 2015.
