Tom Hanks back in Da Vinci Code sequel

Los Angeles – Tom Hanks has signed on to do the third installment of the Da Vinci Code film series.

According to Deadline the actor has just closed a deal with Sony Pictures and Imagine Entertainment and filming of Inferno will start in April next year.

Tom Hanks will reprise his role as Robert Langdon. Ron Howard is set to direct and Brian Grazer will produce the film.

In Inferno, Langdon wakes up in an Italian hospital with amnesia.

Deadline reports that he teams up with a doctor Sienna Brooks, whom he hopes will help him recover his memories and prevent a man from releasing a global plague linked to Dante’s Inferno.

The film is set be released in cinemas on 18 December 2015.
