Toni Collette in Making of Psycho talks

Los Angeles - Toni Collette is in negotiations to star in Alfred Hitchcock and the Making of Psycho.

The Muriel's Wedding actress is set to play Alfred's long-time assistant and friend Peggy Robertson if talks are completed, with other stars including Michael Stuhlbarg, Danny Huston and Michael Wincott also possibly on for parts.

Acclaim

Toni is the latest in a number of big names to enrol for the Sacha Gervasi-directed movie; Scarlett Johansson, Jessica Biel, Dame Helen Mirren and Sir Anthony Hopkins are all taking part.

Those behind the film are hoping it will receive the same kind of acclaim given to behind-the-scenes movie My Week with Marilyn, which gained Michelle Williams an Oscar nomination.

Scarlett is playing the role of actress Janet Leigh - the lead actress in the 1960 horror movie - while Jessica is taking the part of Vera Miles, who played her sister Lila Kane.

Anthony is playing Hitchcock, while British actress Helen, who won an Oscar for her portrayal of Queen Elizabeth, will play his wife.

The script for Alfred Hitchcock and the Making of Psycho has been written by Black Swan scribe John McLaughlin, and adapted by the book by Stephen Rebello.
