Veteran Hollywood actor to attend South African premiere of Leading Lady

Cape Town - The exciting news has been confirmed! Canadian actor, Gil Bellows, will arrive in South Africa on 9 November in order to attend the official premiere of the movie Leading Lady on 13 November in Johannesburg.

Gil Bellows is a veteran Hollywood actor who has accumulated over 80 acting credits, he is the Emmy-winning and Golden Globe-nominated producer of Temple Grandin, and has just completed his directorial debut, 3 Days in Havana.

He plays the Hollywood hunk and Jodi’s (Katie McGrath) boyfriend, Daniel Taylor, in Leading Lady, a classic romantic comedy that suggests that the only thing better than fame might be Kobus Willemse (Bok van Blerk).

Leading Lady tells the story of an aspiring British actress, Jodi Rutherford, who persuades Kobus Willemse, a farmer from Brandfort, to prepare her for a role in a major film as an Afrikaans war heroine. In return Jodi undertakes to arrange and direct the annual concert at the Willemse farm.

Jodi’s interaction with the quirky, small-town citizens of Brandfort and the stubborn Kobus, teaches her that there is more to life than Hollywood’s "ights, camera, action!" or is there…?

This film is directed by Henk Pretorius (Fanie Fourie’s Lobola), and produced by Llewelynn Greeff and Pretorius.
