Vin Diesel lands action thriller

Los Angeles - Vin Diesel is to appear in a new film penned by the Unknown writing team.

The Fast and Furious actor was impressed with the pitch he was given by Oliver Butcher and Stephen Cornwell for the as yet untitled action thriller and he had his producing partner Samantha Vincent have agreed to run with the project under their One Race company.

One Race said in a statement: "Butcher and Cornwell understand how to write intelligent action thrillers that translate to an international audience."

Diesel previously collaborated with the writers on a film version of his Wheelman videogame, though that project appears to have stalled.

The actor has a busy few months ahead of him, with Fast and Furious 6 in the works and the third of his Riddick movies due to start shooting in September.

In addition, he is also slated to appear in family fantasy comedy The Machine, which looks at the friendship between a young boy and a government military cyborg.
