Los Angeles - Vin Diesel has confirmed there will be a six and seventh movie in the Fast and Furious series.
The star and producer of the franchise - about the culture of underworld racing - believes the story would be too big to fit into just one further film and thinks two are needed.
He told The Hollywood Reporter: "With the success of this last one, and the inclusion of so many characters and broadening the scope, when we were sitting down to figure out what would fit into the real estate of number six, we didn't have enough space.
"We have to pay off this story, we have to service all of these character relationships and when we started mapping all that out it just went beyond 110 pages. The studio said, 'You can't fit all that story in one damn movie!' "
The last film in the franchise, Fast Five, took $626m at the box office worldwide and generated some of the best reviews the franchise has had.
It is not known if the movie will be two separate films or two standalone pictures.
