Los Angeles - Hugh Jackman is in talks for a third Wolverine movie.
The 45-year-old actor and director James Mangold - who helmed The Wolverine this year - have entered negotiations with Twentieth Century Fox about returning for another installment of the superhero franchise.
According to Deadline, Mangold is in talks with the film corporation about writing another Wolverine film and Lauren Shuler Donner is being lined up to return and produce the film again, after her work on 2009's X-Men Origins: Wolverine and 2013's The Wolverine.
Storyline a secret
The storyline for the upcoming project is being kept under wraps, but some believe the plot could follow on from the character's antics in next year's hotly anticipated X-Men: Days of Future Past.
Jackman recently said Wolverine is going to have "fun" with Michael Fassbender's character, Magneto, in X-Men: Days of Future Past when his alter-ego travels back in time to save the mutant race.
"It's fair to say we don't get on that well. I get sent back to the past and he has no idea who I am, but you can imagine Wolverine has a bit of fun with that."
