Los Angeles - Hugh Jackman would "seriously consider" playing James Bond.
The 46-year-old actor admitted he was approached about taking on the role of the suave super-spy 10 years ago before Daniel Craig got the part and if the opportunity came up again, he would be interested.
Hugh told Australian TV show The Project: "I sort of have [been asked]. At the time I was just about to do X-Men 2 and I was like, #Ah, I don't think it's the right time'. But it was not an easy one to give up."
And when asked if he would take on the role when Daniel retires, he said: "I'd seriously consider it."
Meanwhile, Daniel, 47, - who is about to return to the big screen for the new Bond movie Spectre - recently slammed his alter-ego as a lonely, "sexist and misogynistic" man.
He said: "Hopefully my Bond is not as sexist and misogynistic as (earlier incarnations). The world has changed."
