Cape Town – Mark Wahlberg and director Peter Berg have joined forces for their third real-life feature film based on the deadly Boston Marathon bombing.
In Patriots Day, Wahlberg plays a police sergeant, Tommy Saunders guarding the annual marathon.
The film centres on the aftermath of the 2013 Boston Marathon bombing that killed several people and injured hundreds and the manhunt to catch the perpetrators.
Other cast members include J.K. Simmons, John Goodman, Kevin Bacon, and Michelle Monaghan.
