Action, thrills, and more in SA cinemas this weekend!

Cape Town – 40 years after its original release Francis Ford Coppola's masterpiece Apocalypse Now: Final Cut is back in cinemas.

For one week only you can watch or re-watch what is said to be one of the best films of all time. Starring Marlon Brando, Robert Duvall, Martin Sheen, Laurence Fishburne, and Harrison Ford, it follows a veteran army officer who is tasked to kill a highly decorated war hero.

Also showing: Gerard Butler must save the American president again in the third instalment of the Fallen franchise, four teens encounter deadly sharks deep down at sea, and a local film with a Guy Ritchie feel.

HERE ARE THE 4 NEW FILMS RELEASING IN SA CINEMAS

Movie: Angel Has Fallen

Our rating: 2/5

Short review: The second sequel in an increasingly unlikely franchise, Angel Has Fallen is a perfectly proficient action-thriller that nonetheless does nothing to deserve the price of a cinema ticket.
