Alicia Vikander is in Cape Town filming Tomb Raider

Cape Town – Filming for the Tomb Raider reboot has begun right here in the Mother City.

Alicia Vikander will star in the action movie in the role made famous by Angelina Jolie. 

Vikander's trainer, Magnus Lygdbäck, known for transforming celebrity bodies for action roles, posted this picture of the star in Cape Town recently.

After a few days of holiday it seems the cast and crew headed back to resume filming.

According to Tomb Raider Collection.com the beginning of the film will be shot here and the latter part in England. 

Other cast members and plot details remain under wraps.
