Batgirl finally gets her own standalone movie

Cape Town – Comic fans are finally getting the movie they've been asking for.

Variety has reported that Batgirl will be getting a standalone movie. 

They further reported that Joss Whedon is in talks to direct, write and produce the yet untitled film with Warner Bros. 

Batgirl aka Barbara Gordon is the daughter of Gotham City police commissioner James Gordon. She made her first appearance in the in Detective Comics #359, titled The Million Dollar Debut of Batgirl! (1967).

Alicia Silverstone is best know for playing a version of the character in the 1997 film Batman & Robin.
