Los Angeles - Chris Hemsworth has been revealed to be playing a nerdy assistant in the new Ghostbusters film.
The hunky Australian actor has shed his macho image in favour of a pair of square specs and waistcoat, for the female-driven instalment of the franchise that stars Kate McKinnon, Melissa McCarthy, Kristen Wiig, and Leslie Jones as the paranormal fighting gang.

Production on Ghostbusters started last summer and the movie will arrive in July next year.
Chris will be taking on the position previously held by Annie Potts' stern secretary Janine Melnitz, over 30 years after the original film starring Bill Murray, Dan Akroyd, Harold Ramis, Rick Moranis and Sigourney Weaver took the world by storm.
