New York — Christian Bale has confirmed that he will play Dick Cheney in Adam McKay's planned biopic of the former vice president.
Bale was last week reported as being in talks to join the film that will reteam him with McKay following The Big Short. In an interview Wednesday, Bale acknowledged he has signed up to star in the untitled film.
Bale says McKay has a special talent for taking stories that on their surface seem boring and turning them into entertaining and intelligent films. McKay shared a screenwriting Oscar for The Big Short, and Bale was nominated for best supporting actor.
The Cheney film will also star Steve Carell as Donald Rumsfeld.
