Cape Town – Stephen King's evil clown Pennywise makes his big screen debut in September and professional clowns are not happy about it.
According to The Hollywood Reporter the World Clown Association says that the professional clown industry has taken a hit with the resurgence of the character.
In an interview with the publication Pam Moody, World Clown Association president said that people had shows cancelled.
"It all started with the original It, that introduced the concept of this character. It's a science-fiction character. It's not a clown and has nothing to do with pro clowning," says Moody.
To aid members the association has created a press kit to prepare clowns for the release of the film.
