Cape Town – After filming of Resident Evil: The Final Chapter wrapped earlier this month it has emerged that a crew member has died on the set.
This comes after stuntwoman Olivia Jackson was seriously injured during a motorbike stunt on the set in Johannesburg earlier this year. Jackson has since revealed that her left arm has been paralysed and will have to be amputated.
Ricardo Cornelius, 34, who died on 3 December was crushed after one of the props, a US army issue Hummer, reportedly fell on top of him during filming in Belhar.
According to an article published by the Daily Voice, the Mitchell’s Plain resident’s wife Shafiefa Cornelius is devastated by his death.
The death of Cornelius has been kept under wraps with few details released.
An inquest has been opened into the case and the cause of the accident.
