Cape Town - Carrie Fisher's mom and veteran actress Debbie Reynolds has posted a touching tribute to her daughter.
The post was made on Reynolds' Facebook just hours after the news of Fisher's untimely passing was made public on Tuesday.
Carrie was born to one of the biggest mid-century celebrity couples, entertainers Debbie Reynolds and late pop singer Eddie Fisher.
Fisher once said: "I'm a product of Hollywood inbreeding...When two celebrities mate, something like me is the result."
Carrie suffered a massive heart attack on Friday while flying to Los Angeles.
Reynolds wrote: "Thank you to everyone who has embraced the gifts and talents of my beloved and amazing daughter. I am grateful for your thoughts and prayers that are now guiding her to her next stop. Love Carries Mother."
