Cape Town – There's been a lot of drama surrounding the new Fast and the Furious spin-off.
The new film scheduled to be released in July 2019 stars Dwayne Johnson and Jason Statham.
Singer and actor Tyrese Gibson has voiced his strong disapproval since news broke last week.
He even called Johnson a clown and has accused the actor of breaking up the Fast family. (Read more here)
Johnson for the most part has remained silent in the face of Gibson's rant.
Now, however, Johnson passed a subtle dig at Gibson in his latest Instagram.
Alongside a clip of himself and Statham he went on to thank his production partner Universal Studios.
"Thank you UNIVERSAL STUDIOS for being tremendous partners who see the big picture and for coming to us years ago with this spinoff idea. Huge shout to my brother, Jason Statham for the trust and wanting to create and deliver something fresh and bad ass for the fans." (sic)
He also went on to say that he has tremendous amount of respect for the franchise and hopes to create bigger opportunities for new actors and his Fast co-stars.
He ended the post with #CandyAssesNeedNotApply, which probably is in reference to some of the Fast 8 beef earlier this year. (Read more here)
