Los Angeles - Emily Blunt is to lend her voice to My Little Pony: The Movie.
The 'Sicario' actress will bring to life on of the animated characters in the children's film - based on the hugely popular equine Hasbro toy line which first came out in the 80s - although it is not known which one.
It has been revealed that Tara Strong, Cathy Weseluck, Andrea Libman, Tabitha St. Germain, Ashleigh Ball and Kristin Chenoweth will provide the voices for the Mane 6 ponies; Twilight Sparkle, Applejack, Rainbow Dash, Pinkie Pie, Fluttershy and Rarity.
Jayson Theissen will direct the Lionsgate film which will follow the Mane 6 in their pursuit to save their Ponyville home from outside dangers.
My Little Pony: The Movie is due to be released in November 2017.
Blunt, 32, has a busy 2016 ahead.
She will be seen alongside Charlize Theron in The Huntsman: Winter's War from 8 April, and she will also appear in the film adaptation of Paula Hawkins' best-seller The Girl on the Train.
The Devil Wears Prada beauty has also been cast for a further two animated films Gnomeo & Juliet: Sherlock Gnomes with Johnny Depp and Animal Crackers with husband John Krasinski.
