Cape Town – Filming for the second instalment of Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them has begun.
Deadline reports that the sequel is being shot at the Warner Bros Studios, Leavesden outside London the same place where the Harry Potter films were shot.
Original cast members Eddie Redmayne, Johnny Depp, Katherine Waterston, Alison Sudol and Dan Fogler are joined by newcomers Claudia Kim, William Nadylam, Ingvar Sigurdsson and Jude Law.
Law will play young Albus Dumbledore. (Read more here.)

On Monday Warner Bros released the plot details of the film.
The untitled film will pick up a few months after the original. Grindelwald (Depp) has escaped and is gathering more followers for his cause.
"The only one who might be able to stop him is the wizard he once called his dearest friend, Albus Dumbledore. But Dumbledore will need help from the wizard who had thwarted Grindelwald once before, his former student Newt Scamander," reads the statement.
The film is set to be released in November 2018.
