Jagveld cast joined by Lions at special screening

Johannesburg - The highly anticipated new Afrikaans action movie Jagveld (Hunting Field - with English subtitles) - written by the renowned master of the thriller genre, Deon Meyer – is wrapping its nationwide tour with a special outdoor screening of the film on a massive screen at Bidvest Wanderers Stadium in Johannesburg this Saturday, 18 March 2017 from 17:00.

Jagveld stars Leandie du Randt Bosch and Tim Theron will join bizhub Highveld Lions cricket players Rassie van der Dussen, Dominic Hendricks and Nicky van den Bergh, amongst others, to sit down and enjoy this unique Jagveld movie experience with fans. 

The event coincides with the film’s release at cinemas nationwide from Friday, 17 March.

Jagveld boasts a top notch cast - featuring Leandie Du Randt, Neels van Jaarsveld (SAFTA nominee), Tim Theron, Tertius Meintjes and other popular local acting talent. 

The story in Jagveld kicks off with Emma le Roux (Leandie du Randt), who is on her way home to the family farm in the Great Karoo; pretty, soft little Emma, the pacifist primary school teacher. She has made the trip 'n thousand times without incident, but not today.

Today she will cross paths with Bosman, Baz, Jay, Boela, AJ and Piet. Bosman (Neels van Jaarsveld) is the mastermind of the drug syndicate; a psychopath, he is savage and violent. Baz (Tim Theron) and Jay (Bouwer Bosch) are his henchmen - murderers, monsters. AJ (Danie Putter) and Boela (Edwin van der Walt), spoiled brats looking for validation, are on board to make a quick buck in the criminal underworld. And then there's Piet (Luan Jacobs), the weakling, who is willing to do just about anything for his cousin Bosman.

Emma witnesses them committing a murder; and they see her seeing them. Now they're hunting her down like an animal. But they don’t know who this girl is that they are hunting and nothing is going according to plan; everything is falling apart, and fast. At first they were driven by hate and revenge. Suddenly, it's survival…

Where to get your tickets

Tickets for the special screening of Jagveld with the movie’s stars and the Highveld Lions at the Wanderers Stadium on Saturday, 8 March can be purchased via www.ticketpro.co.za (proceeds from ticket sales will be donated to the Beeld Kinderfonds). 

The venue is licensed, and picnic baskets can be ordered via the ticket outlet.
