Local filmmaker wants to make doccie about Russian nuclear deal

Johannesburg - The push by our government for a nuclear deal with Russia that will apparently solve all our energy problems (but bankrupt us in the process) has been making worrying headlines for the past few months.

Local film maker Joseph Oesi is setting out to create a documentary that will reveal the truth behind the proposed deal.

Called Energy Africa, Oesi “will challenge and expose one of South Africa’s most burning issues through ... extensive research and engagement across South Africa, Africa, and beyond”.

The film will require extensive funding, and Oesi has put out a call to the public to help get it made.

You can donate any amount by going to the movie’s website at energyafricaproject.com.

Donors will receive invitations to events linked to the documentary, and to the premiere, special prices on the final DVD, as well as a special independent report on the whole production. Investigative work of this nature has never been more urgent or difficult, and crowdfunding has become one of the best ways to help get it done.
