Johannesburg - South Africa’s box office hit Mrs Right Guy is part of the official selection of Fespaco 2017.
Fespaco is the largest film festival in Africa and takes place every two years in Ouagadougou, the capital of Burkina Faso.
The festival will run from 25 February to 4 March 2017.
Adze Ugah, the romantic comedy’s director said it was "a great honour to be selected to Fespaco, one of Africa’s oldest and most prestigious film festivals."
The box office hit, starring Dineo Moeketsi, Thapelo Mokoena and Lehasa Moloi, focuses on the life of Gugu (Moeketsi), the walking wounded who rejects men before they can get too close or rock her self-imposed exile from love.

Released in June 2016, the film held on South African screens for several months. In November, it also released theatrically in Nigeria and in Kenya – all ground-breaking events for a South African film.
“The film’s release in West Africa proves there is an export market for South African film. It bodes well for the future”, said Dumi Gumbi one of the film’s producers.
This week’s announcement from Fespaco’s selectors, follows on the news that Mrs Right Guy; has received 6 nominations in Africa Magic Viewers’ Choice Awards.
